Dr. Shadid checks her voicemail and email regularly and will make every attempt to return non-emergency/non-urgent matters within 24 hours, not including weekends or holidays. Non-emergency or non-urgent messages left through voicemail and/or email after office hours may not be returned until the following business day. SIP does not provide on-call 24 hour/7 days/week crisis management services. Messages will be checked after office hours, but if your clinical matter is an emergency or urgent matter that requires medical and/or psychiatric intervention, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room.

Because Dr. Shadid practices Integrative, Holistic, and Functional Medicine for evaluation and treatment of mental health and psychiatric symptoms, most of the follow up appointments will be scheduled as 60 minute appointments to ensure adequate time to discuss multiple topics of health and wellbeing.

These hour appointments can include 1) Psychotherapy Appointments with or without Medication Management 2) Specialty Laboratory Evaluations - Hormone Testing, Micronutrient Testing, Neurotransmitter Testing, Genetic Testing 3) Alternative and Complementary Treatment - Stress Management Techniques including Yoga Therapy, Meditation/Mindfulness, Breathwork 4) Functional Medicine Psychiatric Evaluations - Inflammation/Immune Dysregulation, Hormone Disruptions, Nutritional/Gastrointestinal (GI) Assessments

The 30 minute appointments are for psychiatric Medication Management Appointments. Specialty laboratory assessments are optional services and provided by Genomind, Genova Diagnostics, SpectraCell Laboratories and ZRT Laboratory. Telepsychiatry services are available for out-of-state psychiatric consultations.

Insurance Reimbursement

Dr. Shadid does not accept any insurance plans and is considered an out of network provider for all insurance policies, including Medicaid and Medicare. Shadid Integrative Psychiatry will not directly bill your insurance company for payment of services, but SIP will provide a receipt or invoice for you to submit directly for reimbursement from your insurance company. Please be aware that some of the services provided may be "non-covered" services and considered not medically necessary under your insurance plan. Insurance reimbursement depends on individual patients' policy terms, and Dr. Shadid is not responsible for ensuring insurance reimbursements. The patient is responsible for payment in full, regardless of your insurance company's final determination of coverage. Please check with your insurance company before making an appointment in regards to your mental health benefits.

Financial Policy

For established patients, full payment of the appointment is due at time of service. The full appointment fee will be charged for late-cancellation appointments (cancelled with less than 48 hours notification), or missed and no-show appointments. A credit card is required to keep on file for each patient in the event of a missed, no-show or late-cancellation of appointment. For new patients, 50% of the new patient appointment fee will be collected when Dr. Shadid schedules your first appointment. The remaining balance will be charged on the date of service of the new patient appointment. Appointments cancelled with at least 72 hours notice will receive a full refund of the prepayment.  The pre-payment will not be refunded for cancelled appointments with less than 72 hours notice or missed and no-show appointments. New patients must pay with credit card for the first intake or consultation appointment.

Prescription Policy

Prescription refill requests are processed during office hours of Monday - Thursday 9:30am - 5:30pm. For established patients needing a medication refill, please have your pharmacy fax a medication refill request to 303-459-7827 or the pharmacy may request medication refills electronically. Please allow two business days for a prescription refill to be processed. For refills of psychiatric medications, patients must be seen for an appointment at least every six months for non-controlled substance medications, and every three months for controlled substance medications, such as benzodiazepines or stimulants. Patients not seen within the appropriate follow up time of three to six months will not be able to refill psychiatric medications. It is the patients' responsibility to be aware of the amount of medications they have left or remaining refills available when scheduling the next medication appointment. Please be sure to schedule your medication appointment before running out of psychiatric medications.
